Hermanto has more than 20 years of experience in the tax practice at several major accounting and advisory firms. Before focusing on tax, he practiced as an auditor for 7 years, including 2 years in Melbourne, Australia. He was also a Director at a major publicly listed Indonesian coal mining company for 5 years where he was in charge of managing the company's tax and GCG matters.
Hermanto has extensive experience across diverse industry sectors including coal and minerals mining, oil and gas, power and renewable energy, trading, manufacturing, e-commerce, and telecommunications. His expertise encompasses a wide range of tax-related work and projects, including project structuring, due diligence reviews, mergers and acquisitions, and global bond offerings. He also manages tax audits and disputes at all stages. During his tenure as a Director of the coal mining company, Hermanto successfully managed tax compliance and risk, and won numerous major tax disputes. He was also actively involved in the Indonesian Coal Mining Association in solving some major taxation issues facing the coal industry.
Hermanto has a degree in Accounting from Tarumanagara University and also attended an executive education program at Harvard Business School. He holds a tax consultant license from the Ministry of Finance (Brevet C) and is a licensed tax attorney at the Tax Court. He is also a registered Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Indonesian Institute of Accountants and a member of CPA Australia.
